ATLANTA—Mercy Sister Valentina Sheridan participated in a blessing at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, where she was the spiritual and pastoral heart for many years. She has left Atlanta to begin her retirement in Savannah.
The occasion was the opening of the hospital’s new Orthopaedics & Spine Pavilion. Sister Val offered a blessing. Also attending were Father Miguel Grave de Peralta, director of pastoral care, Mercy Sister Denis Marie Murphy and chaplain Georgia Newman.
The $15 million facility has combined all orthopaedics and spine services at the hospital.
