DECATUR—Students, teachers and staff at St. Thomas More School, Decatur, honored military veterans in an assembly on Monday, Nov. 10.

The Decatur school community partnered with The Independence Fund, an organization that helps severely wounded veterans, to raise money to buy a track chair for a wounded Georgia veteran. The man received the machine, which can serve as an all terrain wheelchair, for increased mobility. He was presented with the equipment at the school.

The school’s tribute ended with a balloon release, as the students prayed for soldiers worldwide.
