Retiring Transfiguration pastor to be honored

MARIETTA—Msgr. Patrick Bishop, long-time pastor of Transfiguration Church, is planning to retire this summer after 40 years serving as a priest of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

Parishioners will be honoring his priesthood and his 25 years as pastor of Transfiguration at a celebration on Saturday, May 17.

The Mass of thanksgiving will begin at 7 p.m. Following the Mass, the event will continue in Bishop Hall with food, drinks and music provided by the Radio Kings.

A special celebration for young families will take place Friday, May 30, from 6-8 p.m. in Bishop Hall.

Msgr. Bishop has served many parishes in the archdiocese as a seminarian, deacon, parochial vicar and pastor. The parish invites anyone who would like to share in celebrating this dedicated leader’s love for the Church to attend.

Transfiguration Church is located at 1815 Blackwell Road, NE, in Marietta.
