Catholic-Orthodox Ecumenical Gathering set for May 20

ATLANTA—The May Catholic-Orthodox Ecumenical Gathering will bring the faithful together to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the meeting of Pope Paul VI and Patriarch Athenagoras I in Jerusalem and the present state of Catholic-Orthodox relations in light of that meeting.

The gathering will take place on Tuesday, May 20, at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Atlanta. Following the event will be a reception in Kenny Hall.

Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory will co-officiate, along with His Eminence Alexios, Metropolitan of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta.

The keynote speaker will be Paulist Father Ronald Roberson, who serves as the associate director of the Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, in Washington, D.C.

The Cathedral of Christ the King is located at 2699 Peachtree Road, N.E., Atlanta.
