Three Pinecrest athletes cited by Tip-Off Club

CUMMING—The Forsyth County Tip-Off Club recognizes outstanding achievement by players, teams and coaches in the county throughout the basketball season. It is made up of the six Georgia High School Association schools in the county: Lambert, South Forsyth, North Forsyth, Forsyth Central, West Forsyth and Pinecrest Academy.

Ten boys and 10 girls in Forsyth County were selected for their December and January Team of the Month.

The Pinecrest Lady Paladins’ freshman point guard Mary Margaret Metz was named to the December team. She led the team in scoring, averaging 10 points a game in November and December. In Pinecrest’s first 14 games, she also led the team in assists, with 34, and steals, with 42.

For the Pinecrest boys, senior Michael Bruckner and junior Nicklaus Palmer were recognized for their outstanding play in November and December. Bruckner is a 6-foot-3-inch post player who is currently leading the team in rebounding, with 7.2 rebounds per game. He also averages 8.4 points per game. Point guard Palmer currently leads the team in scoring, with 14.8 points per game, assists, with 4.2 per game, and steals, with two per game.
