Special Mass of prayer and unity for victims of Typhoon Haiyan

ATLANTA—A special Mass for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan will be celebrated by Father Chito Palang at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Road, Atlanta. Msgr. Francis G. McNamee, rector of the Cathedral of Christ the King, will concelebrate the Mass. All are invited to join with the Filipino-American community of Atlanta.

“As the world responds to meeting the immediate needs of the people of the Philippines, let us come together to unite in prayer for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan”, said Father Palang.

A debriefing will be offered from Philippine Honorary Consul General Ray Donato.

In addition to Friday’s Mass, Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory has asked all the Catholic parishes in the Archdiocese of Atlanta to have for a second collection this weekend for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan coordinated through Catholic Relief Services.
