11Alive earned a Gabriel Award, which recognizes broadcasting excellence.

It is awarded by the Catholic Academy of Communication Professionals. According to the website, a Gabriel-worthy film or program upholds values such as community, creativity, tolerance, justice, compassion and the dedication to excellence.
