The conventions are over. Election Day is less than two months away.

Now the voters have their work cut out for them.

Researching candidates’ positions yourself, listening to or reading well-informed commentators, analyzing the difficult decisions ahead and the character and wisdom of those running for office, these tasks fall to the citizen, in order to be well prepared to cast a ballot on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Presenters at the workshops include Frank Mulcahy, who represents the Catholic bishops of Georgia in legislative matters as executive director of the Georgia Catholic Conference; Mary Boyert, director of respect life ministry for the archdiocese; Kat Doyle, director of social justice ministries for the archdiocese; and Pat Chivers, director of communications and advocacy for the archdiocese.

Three Saturday sessions will be held as follows: Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at St. Pius X Church, Conyers; Sept. 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Brigid Church, Johns Creek; and Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Atlanta.

Tuesday evening sessions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Michael Church, Gainesville, on Sept. 25; at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Newnan, on Oct. 2; and at St. Philip Benizi Church, Jonesboro, on Oct. 9.

Thursday evening sessions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 4 at St. Lawrence Church, Lawrenceville, and on Oct. 18 at Holy Family Church, Marietta.

The cost of $10 per person covers materials that will be provided. It can be paid in advance or at the door.
