Volunteers Needed For Congress

Published April 26, 2012

Volunteers are still needed in all areas of the Eucharistic Congress, which will be held on Friday evening, June 8, to Saturday, June 9.

The deadline for signing up has been extended to May 15, according to Sue Stubbs, one of the volunteer coordinators.

“We need almost 600 volunteers,” Stubbs said, “And we still need volunteers in almost every area—especially the ADORE! Kid Track and ushers for Friday and Saturday.”

She said that the process for volunteering is pretty straightforward. Those who can help should register online at the Eucharistic Congress website or get a form from their parish or school, fill it out and return it as noted on the form.

She said, “You will be contacted by email or phone if we need safe environment paperwork from you, and then you will receive a final confirmation of the area in which you have been assigned to help.”

Volunteers will need to attend training as instructed by the head of the area assigned. They should arrive at the Georgia International Convention Center on the day of the congress and check in outside Hall A at the time assigned.

Stubbs added, “Have fun helping out!” Each volunteer will receive a Eucharistic Congress T-shirt, a complimentary meal during the time they are working, and “the gratitude of everyone for whom they make this day possible.”
