Auxiliary Bishop Luis R. Zarama has announced that Marilyn Santos will serve as interim director of the archdiocesan Office of Formation and Discipleship, following the resignation of Dennis Johnson, Jr. as director of that office, effective Sept. 10.
Santos, who is the associate director of youth ministry and associate director of inculturation, will act as department head while the search for a replacement takes place. She served the Diocese of Brooklyn, N.Y., for 12 years before coming to the Archdiocese of Atlanta nine months ago.
The Office of Formation and Discipleship facilitates the church’s mission of evangelization, initiation and catechesis for the archdiocese, including these ministries: youth, young adults, adults, family, pastoral care and inculturation.
