Two Receive Archdiocesan Scholarships

Published June 10, 2010

Each year the Archdiocese of Atlanta awards two scholarships for academic excellence to rising ninth-graders. The scholarship fund was established in 1980 to recognize eighth-graders in archdiocesan Catholic schools who will be attending an archdiocesan high school in the fall. Scholarships are awarded based on the demonstration of overall academic and personal achievement and are renewable for the sophomore year.

The winners of the 2010 scholarship for academic excellence are Margaret Crawford of St. Thomas More School, Decatur, who will attend St. Pius X High School, Atlanta, and Ameet Kallarackal of Queen of Angels School, Roswell, who will attend Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell. Scholarships will be renewed for Jenny Bui and Steven Johnston, both attending Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fayetteville.
