‘Hello Dolly’ To Benefit Buckhead Ministry

Published June 5, 2008

In production, Patty Guenthner performs as Dolly and Alan Stacy plays the reluctant Mr. Horace Vandergelder. More than 40 cast members, including six school-age children, will take the stage during the performance.

“Hello Dolly” is the seventh production by the Cathedral Players to support Buckhead Christian Ministries, which provides emergency assistance to the working poor. Sponsored by the Cathedral of Christ the King and Holy Spirit Church, as well as nine other area churches, BCM spends 81 cents of every dollar contributed to help those in need. The group offers transitional housing, emergency financial help and educational programs, and they also sponsor Buckhead Thrift-tique on Piedmont Road, which sells gently used clothing and household goods to the community.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors.

Tickets for “Hello Dolly” may be purchased at the door one hour before the performance starts. The Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. June 20, 21, 27 and 28. The Sunday matinee is June 22 at 2 p.m.

Christ the King is located at 2699 Peachtree Road, NE. Parking is available at the Cathedral parking lot at the corner of Peachtree Road and Peachtree Way. The Hyland Center is across Peachtree Way, facing a courtyard behind CTK School.
