Published January 3, 2008

The event, which will run from Sunday, Jan. 13, to Wednesday, Jan. 16, is entitled “It Isn’t Who I Am, But Whose I Am! – Our Gospel Pure and Simple” and is designed to awaken faith and address contemporary issues.

Sunday’s session will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature preaching and question-and-answer portions. The program continues with Mass at noon on Monday, with a preaching and question-and-answer session planned for 7:30 p.m. Monday night. On Tuesday, Father Sutman will celebrate another Mass at noon and an evening session at 7:30 p.m. The event concludes on Wednesday with noon Mass and a final session focusing on spiritual life.

During the parish renewal program, Father Sutman will address other topics such as the problem of evil, prayer and weakness. Father Sutman, a former infantry officer, has participated in missions in Africa and Russia, and has also served as a prison chaplain. He preaches out of his experience of the Gospel in order to get back to the basics of prayer. St. Vincent de Paul Church is located at 680 West Memorial Drive in Dallas.
