Catholic Day At The Capitol

There will be a legislative briefing at 8:30 a.m., which will be repeated at 11 a.m., at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, 48 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, SW, Atlanta.

The program is sponsored by the Catholic Communications Office of the Archdiocese of Atlanta and the Georgia Catholic Conference.

Afterward, people are invited to walk to the statehouse, view the opening of the legislative session and meet with their legislators. An optional tour of the historic building is scheduled for 1 p.m. Lunch is on your own. Atlanta Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory and Savannah Bishop J. Kevin Boland are expected to be at the Capitol for part of the day. The event is free, but registration is required.
