Annual Marian Candlelight Pilgrimage Set For Dec. 7

On Friday, Dec. 7, the vigil for the feast of the Immaculate Conception, the fourth annual Marian candlelight pilgrimage will begin at Sacred Heart Church in Atlanta with Mass at 7 p.m., followed by a 1.2 mile procession along Peachtree Street from Sacred Heart to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. A prayer of thanksgiving will close the evening around 9 p.m.

A police escort will accompany the procession.

Those participating are urged to park near the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and walk to Sacred Heart Parish before Mass to be closer to their cars after the procession.

Sacred Heart Church, located at 353 Peachtree St., NE, is approximately 1.2 miles from the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, which is located at 48 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, SW.
