Msgr. Churchwell Named To Credit Union Board

On Tuesday, Sept. 4, officials at the Georgia Federal Credit Union (GFCU) announced the appointment of Msgr. Stephen Churchwell to its board of directors.

Ordained in 1976, Msgr. Churchwell is currently the pastor of Christ Redeemer Church in Dawsonville and serves part-time at the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, where he is Adjutant Judicial Vicar.

He received his doctoral degree in ecclesiastical law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He was chairman of the board of Greater Atlanta Catholic Federal Credit Union prior to its merger with GFCU in 2004. Since that time, he has remained active by serving as the chairman of the GFCU Catholic Advisory Board.

Georgia Federal Credit Union is ranked as one of the top credit unions in Georgia with assets exceeding $430 million and 14 branch locations. GFCU serves employees and family members of over 400 select employee groups and school systems, including the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
