Sacred Heart, Immaculate Heart Vigil To Be Held

The solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Christ the King on Friday, June 15, with a vigil of reparation sponsored by the Alliance of the Two Hearts.

At 8 p.m. the joyful and luminous mysteries of the rosary will be prayed in the parish hall. From 8 to 9 p.m. Father Joseph Mullakkara will hear confessions.

At 9 p.m. the Mass for the solemnity of the Sacred Heart will be sung in Latin from Franz Schubert’s Mass in G. Father Laurent Demets will be the celebrant and Richard Morris will serve as organist and choir director with the Schola St. Francis de Sales. Following Mass the vigil will continue with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and holy hours of adoration and the recitation of the Divine Mercy chaplet. Light refreshments will be available.

At midnight Mass will be celebrated by Father Chito Palang for the June 16 feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Prayers will continue with recitation of the sorrowful and glorious mysteries of the rosary and holy hours. All are invited to take part in the vigil.
