Procession Honoring Mary Will Take Place May 13

A celebration in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be held on Sunday, May 13, the 90th anniversary of the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, at the Cathedral of Christ the King from 2 to 4 p.m.

Participants are invited to bring a flower to place at a Marian altar in honor of their own mothers on Mother’s Day. The event will begin at 2 p.m. in the parish hall at the Cathedral with the recitation of the joyful and glorious mysteries of the rosary. At 2:45 p.m. a procession in honor of Mary will assemble on the plaza outside the Cathedral. During the procession those participating will place their flower in vases at the altar before being seated. The event will continue with the crowning of Mary and a prayer of consecration to Mary.

Father Kevin Peek, chaplain at Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell, will offer Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and a homily and a special blessing for the sick. The celebration will conclude at 4 p.m. with light refreshments.

All are invited to honor the Blessed Mother and express their thanks for her maternal care and for all the graces that come through her Son, Jesus.
