Siblings: José Ramón (older brother) and José Juan (youngest brother)

Education: Earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico; received a master’s of divinity in theology after two years’ study at St. Mary’s in Baltimore and two years’ study at Mount St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, Md.

Work Experience: Worked as a document control clerk at CSA Architects and Engineers in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and as a missionary with Pontifical Missionary Works of Puerto Rico; also worked in parish ministry, at missions as a preacher, on a Catholic radio program, in nursing homes, with hospice for AIDS patients (Hogar Crea Centro Médico, Puerto Rico), in hospital ministry (Hospital Cardiovascular de Puerto Rico y el Caribe), and in youth ministry (San Juan and Atlanta).

Primary Hobbies and Interests: Golf and sports in general, visiting the beach, salsa dancing, and singing.
