Candlelight Procession Will Mark Feast Of Immaculate Conception

The second annual candlelight Marian procession in honor of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception will be held Thursday, Dec. 8, beginning with Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 7 p.m.

Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory will celebrate the Mass, which will be immediately followed by a candlelight procession to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, where the evening will conclude with a prayer of thanksgiving. The event is scheduled to end by 9 p.m.

A police escort will accompany the procession.

Sacred Heart Church, located at 353 Peachtree St., NE, is approximately 1.2 miles from the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, which is located at 48 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, SW. After the procession, participants can use public transportation to return to Sacred Heart.
