Live Music Performance To Benefit Seamless Garment
Published September 22, 2005
On Friday, Oct. 7, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at The Art Place-Mountain View, 3330 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta, there will be an evening of live music, plus a silent auction, to benefit Seamless Garment, a local home for pregnant women in crisis.
Seamless Garment was founded and opened in April 2002 by Brian and Debby Freel, parishioners of Transfiguration Church in Marietta, and it has enabled many women to have and keep their babies. It is run with love, volunteers and donations.
This benefit evening will feature live acoustic groups including “Cheaper Than Therapy,” an a cappella group singing tunes from the ‘40s to the B-52s, and Jennifer Ferrin, a soulful, bluesy songstress. The silent auction will have gift baskets and many gift certificates from local businesses and restaurants.
There is a suggested $8 donation at the door, $5 for seniors and students, and homemade desserts and coffee will be available. All proceeds go directly to Seamless Garment.
