Marist Boys Get By Blessed Trinity In Double OT

On the eve of Super Bowl XLIII, it took two overtimes for Marist School to outpace Blessed Trinity in a low scoring game 51-48. Marist was led by senior shooting guard John (“JJ”) Mann with 23 points. Blessed Trinity senior forward Arris Brundidge scored 27 points in a losing cause.

In the girls game Marist defeated Blessed Trinity in regulation 76-37. Marist center Whitney Hagan led the team with 14 points. Shooting guard Anna Weikert poured in 11 points and shooting guard Tesia Davis and forward Amalie Erwood contributed 10 points apiece. As a team Marist had 13 steals and 18 assists.

The Blessed Trinity boys (17-5 overall, 7-3 in the region) and girls (11-10 overall, 7-3 in the region) take on Avondale High School at home Friday, Feb. 6. Marist boys (17-2 overall, 8-1 in the region) and girls (19-2 overall, 9-0 in the region) host Lakeside-DeKalb High School on Senior Night, Friday, Feb. 6.
