Prince Of Peace Parish Mission Entitled ‘Behold The Man’

Published January 27, 2005

Prince of Peace Church will sponsor a parish mission from Sunday, Jan. 30, through Thursday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. The mission, which has the theme “Behold the Man,” will explore Jesus in his divine humanity.

An experienced and skilled Catholic mission team from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will lead the community experience.

Participants will seek to know Jesus, who shared “our humanity,” and to “savor his wisdom, goodness and courage in the midst of trial, agony and loneliness.” Those who attend will reflect on Jesus facing such experiences as the murder of John the Baptist, and his meeting a woman at a well to whom he was forbidden to speak under pain of sin. Despite the fact that Jesus is tired, hot, and thirsty still he reaches out to help her in her misery. The emphasis throughout the mission will be on the nature of Jesus as “true man” and as the “Son of man.”

Prince of Peace Church is located at 4300 South Lee St. in Buford. Child-care and refreshments will be provided during the mission. For more information, call Theresa Bonnet at (770) 945-2244, ext. 101.
