St. Thomas More Players to present ‘Bye Bye Birdie’

DECATUR—The St. Thomas More Players’ production of “Bye Bye Birdie” will run weekends Sept. 12-21 at St. Thomas More School, 630 West Ponce de Leon Ave. in Decatur.

Show times are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets will be sold at the door one hour prior to curtain.

“Bye Bye Birdie” is being directed by Gail Goodman, music minister at Holy Cross Church in Atlanta. Set in Sweet Apple, Ohio, the musical tells the story of a small town Elvis, Conrad Birdie, and his quest to kiss one girl before leaving for the Army. The production features some of the most famous songs in musical theater including “Put on a Happy Face” and “A Lot of Livin’ to Do.”

St. Thomas More Church presents an annual production as part of its theater ministry, formed nine years ago.
