Archdiocesan schools update remote learning policy for fall

ATLANTA—Archdiocesan School Superintendent Hal Plummer announced in a May 7 letter to parents the Office of Catholic Schools plans on having all students in the classroom full time in the fall.
Plummer said the pandemic has hampered efforts to build community.
“In almost every dimension of education, having some students online and others in person has caused an understandable but nonetheless significant impairment to each school’s ability to foster community and reap the full harvest of its benefits,” he wrote to parents.
Remote learning will require exemptions with medical documentation.
Schools will monitor COVID-19 data and maintain the “highly successful protocols to ensure the health” of all, he said.
