ATLANTA—The visiting Flames of Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School defeated the Cougars of Holy Spirit Preparatory School in a girls’ varsity soccer match on April 21.
While Cristo Rey Atlanta dominated the ball for most of the first half, Asia Bay Jacobs, a junior at Holy Spirit Prep, scored the game’s first goal for the Lady Cougars.
In the second half, Cristo Rey scored two goals, clinching the 2-1 win.
Cristo Rey Atlanta freshman Fatima Rosas scored the first goal for the Flames. Junior captain Stephany Uballe scored the winning goal.
It was amazing and shocking to score, said Uballe.
“I built a lot of courage and gratitude to keep pushing through,” she said. This was the first win for the Flames against the Cougars in girls’ soccer.
The Holy Spirit Prep boys’ soccer team defeated Cristo Rey Atlanta in a prior match that evening with a 2-1 score. Freshman Timi Browne scored the winning goal for Holy Spirit.
