Georgia Knights of Columbus plan for the year ahead
Published September 4, 2014
KENNESAW—Some 200 Knights of Columbus leaders from across the Archdiocese of Atlanta met Saturday, July 19, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, in Kennesaw, for their annual meeting.
The meeting focused on challenges they will face in the new “Fraternal Year,” which began July 1. Discussions included membership, growth and retention, leaders’ training, and the important charitable programs councils provide in areas including pro-life, the community and the church.
State Deputy Sanford Hillsman and State Chaplain Father John Matejek were among the speakers, encouraging the Knights to exceed the great accomplishments of past years.
Host Council 9923 prepared the parish school gym for the meeting, and Columbiette Auxiliary 9923 cooked a delicious hot lunch. A similar meeting was held the previous Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Macon for Georgia councils in the Savannah Diocese.
