Gridiron Athletes Recognized

Members of Blessed Trinity High School’s football team were recently named to the North Fulton All County Team for Georgia. They include juniors Jack Bradley (lineman), Riley Lyons (kicker), T.K. Thomas (linebacker), seniors Eddie Bartlett (lineman), Nick Day (defensive back), Jeremy Phillips (defensive end) and Jake Skole (wide receiver and defensive back).

In addition to being honored as a first team All-State player, Skole also played in the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) North/South All-Star football game in Columbus, Dec. 29, 2009. The game brings together some of Georgia’s most skilled high school football players. Skole was selected as a team captain and caught a touchdown pass during the game. Skole is committed to playing football with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets next season.

Six St. Pius X High School football players were selected to play in the DeKalb County Football Coaches Association All Star Game on Dec. 19, 2009. The Golden Lion players named were linebacker Robert Lucisano, receiver Alden Homrich, lineman Jonathan Porter, running back Cole Moon, safety Brian Gee and lineman Ryan Northcutt. All six are seniors.

Five senior football players from Our Lady of Mercy High School were named to the All Region Team. First team members include offensive lineman Daniel Alexis and defensive lineman Daniel Wesley. Second team members include linebacker George Adams, running back Tracy Daniels and outside linebacker Courtland Vickers.
