Superheroes appear at Immaculate Heart of Mary School
Published November 4, 2016
ATLANTA—September was Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. To honor and remember children and families affected by this disease, students at Immaculate Heart of Mary School gathered on Sept. 29 for the all-school assembly to watch a video on childhood cancer and then listen to the testimonials of two elementary students who talked about their fight against cancer.
After sharing their stories, principal Kellie DesOrmeaux awarded each child a “superhero” cape and a plaque to remind them of their “courage and unending strength.”
