New Face In The Vocations Office
By ANDREW NELSON, Staff Writer | Published May 23, 2013
SMYRNA—Adam Lindenau was recently appointed the associate vocations director, working with director Father Tim Hepburn to help young people in the Archdiocese of Atlanta discern God’s will in their lives.
The 22-year-old lives in Dunwoody and attends All Saints Church, Dunwoody. Engaged to be married on July 6, Lindenau was the guiding force in getting the youth program, XLT Atlanta (held at Studio ONE at All Saints), off the ground. He continues to run the XLT events.
He recently answered a few questions for The Georgia Bulletin.
Georgia Bulletin: What appealed to you about the position at the vocations office?
Lindenau: I have known Father Tim for years and have always admired the priesthood. I discerned the priesthood throughout high school and my freshman year in college. But I obviously discovered that God was leading me into a different vocation. So it is with much joy and honor that I now have the opportunity to work in the vocations office and create opportunities for men and women to find their true vocations.
GB: What are your responsibilities at the vocations office?
Lindenau: My job title is associate director of vocations. My role is to be Father Tim’s front end to the office. I am to create opportunities for men and women to experience God and know that he is calling them to holiness. Once they realize that, we will have the resources and opportunities necessary for them to pursue the priesthood, religious life, marriage or single life.
GB: What were you doing before taking your current position?
Lindenau: I was the studio producer at All Saints Studio ONE and their middle school youth minister. I am also in school at SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) Atlanta for advertising.
GB: What do you do for fun, any hobbies? What books are you reading, favorite music?
Lindenau: I love all extreme sports—snowboarding, wake boarding, surfing. I have a passion for the arts—photography, film, painting. I really enjoy listening to all music, except heavy metal and bluegrass country. I am currently reading “The Shadow of His Wings: The True Story of Fr. Gereon Goldmann, OFM.”
