Fifty-one concrete panels that will make up the exterior of the new St. Peter Chanel Church were lifted into place in July. The parish, which started as a mission in 1998, has been exceeding its projections for growth every year.

The new church will seat approximately 1,300 people. The existing church, which will be converted into a parish hall, seats 750. Groundbreaking took place in September 2006. The architect is CDH Partners and the contractor is Van Winkle & Co., Inc.

The parish is part of a campus of Catholic facilities on Woodstock Road, including Blessed Trinity High School, Queen of Angels Elementary School and St. George Village, a Catholic continuing care retirement community.
