The Catholic Foundation of North Georgia (CFNGA) will be accepting applications for the fall grant cycle until Sept. 30. CFNGA has the mission to enhance the long-term financial stability of the Catholic community in North Georgia by building, managing and granting philanthropic assets.

CFNGA grants are limited to restricted to the metropolitan Atlanta community and to entities in the geographic area of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. The foundation focuses on issues vital to the Catholic community, including children and youth services, community development, education and literacy, health and sciences, and human services and religion.

In the spring, grants were awarded to the Monastery of the Holy Spirit for its capital campaign; to Notre Dame Academy, Duluth, and Our Lady of Mercy High School, Fayetteville, for student scholarships; to the Jesuit Retreat Center at Ignatius House, Atlanta, to provide additional retreats for the Hispanic community; and to Life Choices Pregnancy Resource Center in Jackson for materials to promote abstinence for teens. Additional grants were given to the Advice and Aid Pregnancy and Problem Center, Hapeville; St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cartersville; Catholics Come Home, Roswell; St. Matthew Church, Tyrone; interfaith airport chaplaincy; and The Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University.
