The Pius Players, under the direction of drama teacher Bonnie E. Spark and producer Principal Steve Spellman, will present the musical “Guys and Dolls” in the Msgr. Terry W. Young Center for the Performing Arts at St. Pius X High School. The musical will be performed on Wednesday-Thursday, March 15-16, beginning at 7 p.m.; on Friday, March 17, at 8 p.m.; on Saturday, March 18, at 7 p.m.; and on Sunday, March 19, at 2 p.m.

Set in New York and Cuba, the musical features gangsters, gamblers and other assorted criminals in a light-hearted way with song and dance. One of the gamblers is challenged in a bet to take a “goody two shoes” female missionary to Havana, and as the play proceeds they fall for each other. Despite the hidden motive of the bet to finance a crap game, in the end romance and happiness are the winners.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the St. Pius cafeteria from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, March 6-10 and March 13-17. Those tickets still available will be sold at the door before each performance.
