Polish Community To Hold Christmas, New Year’s Masses

The Atlanta Polish community has scheduled a number of Masses in Polish for the Christmas season. All in the community are welcome to attend.

Society of Christ Father Janusz Zych will celebrate the regularly scheduled Mass in Polish at 2 p.m. on Sundays, Dec. 16 and Dec. 23, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Church, 85 Gloster Road, Lawrenceville. The sacrament of reconciliation is offered before Mass at 1 p.m.

Also at St. Marguerite Church, on Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24, the vigil Mass for Christmas (Pasterka) will be celebrated at 10 p.m. On Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec. 25, the Mass for the Nativity of the Lord will be celebrated at 2 p.m.

On Sunday, Dec. 30, the Mass for the feast of the Holy Family will be celebrated at 2 p.m., including a renewal of marriage vows. On New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31, a Mass for the ending of the year will be celebrated at 8:15 p.m., just prior to the New Year’s Dance in the parish hall. On Tuesday, Jan. 1, a Mass for the New Year 2008, offered for the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, will be celebrated at 2 p.m.

On the Epiphany of the Lord, Sunday, Jan. 6, Polish Masses will be celebrated at 2 p.m. at St. Marguerite Church and at 4 p.m. at Mary Our Queen, 6260 The Corners Parkway, Norcross, and will include the blessing of chalk, incense and water.
