Msgr. Donovan Avenges Earlier Loss To Weber

After losing to The Weber School just eight days earlier by four points on their home court, the Monsignor Donovan High School boys varsity team traveled to Atlanta and defeated the same opponent 55-42, Dec. 9. It was Monsignor Donovan’s first win on the road, ending a seven-game slide.

Both teams were tied at halftime, 20-20. Monsignor Donovan held a slim lead, 36-34, at the end of the third period. With 1:10 remaining in the game, Monsignor Donovan led 48-42. Then the team went on a 7-0 run to seal the victory. Monsignor Donovan had three players score in double figures—senior center Ben Waldron (19 pts.), junior forward Kenny Mannakulathil (17 pts.) and junior guard Luke Brackman (11 pts.).

Monsignor Donovan currently has a two-game winning streak after defeating Westminster Christian Academy of Watkinsville 52-46, Dec. 12. Monsignor Donovan will face Nathanael Greene Academy of Siloam at home on Thursday, Dec. 18.
