Sat, Nov. 8; 8:30 a.m.; Transfiguration Council 10362 (Marietta) will host its fifth annual Knights of Columbus “Carry the Cross” challenge. This innovative program was started in 2021 to raise funds for seminarians in the north Georgia area. The goal is to bring awareness of these young men as they discern the priesthood and support those who need some financial help. That morning, cross-bearer teams from across Georgia will carry 40-pound crosses along one of two sites: the Kennesaw Mountain Trail, and the South River Trail, starting at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers. Teams solicit donations from friends, relatives, brother Knights and parishioners to support this effort. The team that raises the most money wins the challenge.
