Sam Robb Memorial Holiday Classic Is A Winner

ROSWELL—The first Sam Robb Memorial Holiday Classic was held at Blessed Trinity High School, Roswell, on Dec. 27-29. The champions are as follows:

In the sixth-grade boys division, the winner was the team from St. John Neumann School, Lilburn, coached by Dan Cotter.

In the seventh-grade girls division, the winner was the team from Christ the King, Atlanta, coached by Harry Bacheller.

In the eighth-grade girls division, the winner was the team from St. Jude the Apostle School, Atlanta, coached by Eileen and Mike Cunningham.

In the eighth-grade boys division, the winner was the team from St. Joseph School, Marietta, coached by Shaun Bradley.

Following the final game of the tournament, Sam Robb Sr. addressed the crowd and thanked them for their support and participation.

Over 50 volunteers gave their time during the basketball tournament at Blessed Trinity. With the proceeds from the three-day tournament, over $6,500 was raised for the Sam Robb Fund and Cure Childhood Cancer. Robb’s 20-year-old son, Sam, died on June 25, 2007, of osteosarcoma, a common form of bone cancer.
