To the Editor:

Thanks so much to the Bulletin for the excellent article concerning the Ministry with the Deaf (“Office Focuses On Building Up Ministry To Deaf,” Nov. 16, 2006). However, one small point needs clarification. The bi-annual Faith and Sharing Liturgy and covered dish meal was started by the late Toni Miralles at St. Jude’s as an integral part of the Ministry with Persons with Disabilities. It has existed for over 30 years and includes persons with a wide variety of disabilities as well as persons from other faith groups. We have been delighted to have the Archbishop’s participation once a year. Thanks now goes to Ed McCoy for coordinating this event.
