Archbishop Blesses New Offices Of Archdiocesan Newspaper

A new office for The Georgia Bulletin and Catholic communications was blessed by Archbishop Eugene A. Marino, SSJ, June 26 with the staff and friends and colleagues from the Catholic Center present.

The office is at 688 West Peachtree St., N.W., several doors from the Catholic Center at 680 West Peachtree. The mailing address of The Georgia Bulletin will continue to be 680 West Peachtree St. and the phone number remains 888-7832.

Archbishop Marino, assisted by Father Louis Naughton, used the blessing for centers of social communication, which specifically notes the way the Church promotes the right use of the media and those who work in the media.

The Georgia Bulletin, weekly archdiocesan newspaper, has a staff of five. Archbishop Marino is the publisher and Gretchen Keiser is the editor.

Moving to an adjacent building, also owned by the archdiocese of Atlanta, permits more room for the newspaper and also space specifically designed for its function. Architect Carol Braun of St. Ann’s parish, Marietta, designed the office, and John Braun was the contractor for the construction.

Offices on the third floor of the Catholic Center once used by the newspaper were remodeled for members of the Chancery and Finance Department staff. Other offices on the third floor have also been reassigned to reflect Archbishop Marino’s staff needs.
